CODER's main purpose is the study of the Italian public opinion, with particular reference to the North-Western context. This aim is achieved through the integrated study of two different methods of data collection and analysis.

On the one hand, CODER aims at providing a tool that allows the in-home production of Computer-Assisted Web Interviews (CAWI) on representative samples of the Piedmontese population (with the target of expanding its range also to the surrounding regions of the North-West: Lombardy, Liguria, and Valle d'Aosta).

On the other hand, CODER studies public opinion through its manifestation on social media (and more generally digital environments) by producing analyses of the contents of posts and comments on the public pages of politicians, parties and institutions by means of automated text analysis techniques.
